Is our data safe — and where is it hosted?

AmazoniaTech HR is GDPR-native: EU data residency (Frankfurt), encryption in transit, role-based access down to individual fields, a tamper-evident audit trail, and built-in tooling for data-subject requests (access, rectification, erasure, portability). A signed DPA (AVV) is part of every Enterprise plan.

Does it really handle German labour law?

Yes — it was built for it. Working-time recording with ArbZG limits (max 10h/day, 11h rest, statutory breaks), BUrlG leave with carry-over and expiry, public holidays per Bundesland, Nachweisgesetz-ready contract templates, an HinSchG-compliant whistleblowing channel, and a works-council role with legally scoped read access.

We operate several legal entities without a holding. Does that work?

This is our speciality. Company groups let several GmbHs run as one operational company: a manager in Company A can lead people in Company B, calendars and analytics span the group, and approval chains escalate across entities — automatically skipping anyone who is on leave.

How does pricing work exactly?

Per active employee per month, billed annually (monthly billing available at +20%). There is no setup fee and no onboarding charge on Starter and Growth. External contractors with a profile count as seats; deactivated employees don't. Volume discounts start at 100 employees.

Can we migrate from Personio or Excel?

Yes. Import your people via CSV (including a Personio export), and your policies are configured in the app — leave types, holidays, working schedules and approval chains. Most companies under 100 employees complete the switch within a week, in parallel to their old system.

Do employees need training?

No. Employees get a self-service view in English or German: request leave, see who's out or working from home, clock time, sign documents, enrol in benefits, and complete their performance self-assessment. Managers approve from a single inbox.

What about our works council (Betriebsrat)?

There is a dedicated works-council role with read access to working-time and policy data only — no salaries, no health data. Field-level permissions ensure everyone sees exactly what they are legally entitled to see, and nothing more.

Is there a free trial? What if we want to leave?

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial — no credit card required. You can cancel at the end of any billing period, and your data is exportable at any time (CSV for records, iCal for calendars). No lock-in, no exit fees.
